Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Garofanelli.
Isabella, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was raised in Nassau, Bahamas and I guess you can say that travel and content are part of my DNA or that they were hardwired into me at an early age. As a daughter of a successful hotelier and hospitality professional, I’ve come to appreciate the details in the industry with a discerning eye. I have a degree in business and marketing, which taught me many of the tactics to showcase brands effectively and deliver real results and beautiful content.
I started like many in this business, just posting about the things I did and the places I went to. I found that people enjoyed my content, both the images and my captions. From there, I learned that people actually liked what I had to say and that they actually acted on my recommendations. It was then I knew that this could be a real business. Now, as a top luxury brand marketer, I still strive to continue to inspire a bespoke sense of wanderlust to my global audience through the digital space. Through the use of high-quality images, video, and professionally written copy, world-renown premiere brands continue to collaborate with my business in this fast-growing market.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been far from a smooth road and I’ve made more mistakes than I care to admit. I’ve learned so much though from those mistakes and I’m grateful for each and every one. I truly believe that you learn more from your mistakes than your successes.
I started just taking pictures and really not knowing what that meant. I didn’t know what tools to use, what my voice should be, and how to maximize each and every effort to grow my business. That meant everything I did has to be done deliberately. I had to learn how to take better pictures, create an effective voice, and learn how to deliver results for my partners. It sounds simple, but each of those steps were often one step forward, followed by two sometimes three steps backward. I think, fortunately, there have been more steps forward, which have brought me where I am today.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of
First, my business centers on content creation. That’s the value I bring first. My business specializes in luxury lifestyle, beauty, and of course, where it all started, luxury travel. While I find my content resonates just about equally between men and women. I like to think my voice caters to jet setter women who are looking for the insight another woman has. I’m really proud of that. I’m proud of my message of empowerment and support to other women just like me.
I think my business is known for beautiful images of the most beautiful destinations around the world. What set’s my business apart is how I approach the properties and brands. I look for what makes each place, product, or service unique and bring that out in the content I specifically create.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I have been so very fortunate to have traveled the world, and frankly, for what I do, I could do it from anywhere. Miami though, is both home and headquarters for me and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Things I love about Miami include the multi-cultural environment, the beaches, the FOOD, and of course, our weather. It’s a city where you can have a bit of everything from a quite suburb where it would be great raise a family, to the urban setting of Brickell and downtown, to the beach life, each so so distinct but all right here.
Things I dislike are really the same things I dislike anywhere. Bad traffic, expensive real estate, not effective mass transit, and oh, I almost forgot. As a non-Spanish speaker, it can be frustrating in some (not many) situations where everyone around you speaks only Spanish. In the end, it’s such a small price to pay to be part of this amazing city. For me, Miami is world-class and I often think to myself, why don’t more of those New York or London companies move here. The weather’s better, the cost of living is lower, and the quality of life is so much better.
