Today we’d like to introduce you to Ilana Brit Mechoullam.
Ilana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a nurse practitioner that specializes in aesthetics, and I’m also the owner of Peace.Love.Med. Aesthetic Rejuvenation, a medical spa based in Boca Raton, Florida. I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart, I first started experimenting with design at the age of twelve when I began hand-making jewelry to sell to local consignment stores. I then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emory University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University, both with magna cum laude honors.
From there I honed my skills working with one of Manhattan’s top plastic surgeons for nearly a decade, a Harvard and NYU-trained leader in aesthetics. In 2017 inspired by my own experience growing up with a misshapen nose and my passion for helping clients improve their self-esteem through aesthetics I started my own medical spa, Peace.Love.Med. Aesthetic Rejuvenation.
We are best known for our work fighting the social stigma surrounding beauty enhancement procedures. We really aim to create a safe and luxurious haven for those who want to look and feel better about themselves. Our team here not only provides some of the most innovative procedures in the business, but they do so in an environment of complete and total zen.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say curating the right team up until now has been challenging, I truly believe in the power of teamwork and the importance of surrounding yourself with a strong team with complementary skill sets. Sometimes it’s hard to find people to trust, especially in this industry.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve been nicknamed “The Nose Nurse” after my signature treatment. It’s a non-surgical nose job where I strategically inject dermal filler to refine and reshape the nose.
I have a popular social media channel @thenosenurse where I demonstrate how to create naturally beautiful results without undergoing surgery. Today, I have performed over 12,000 nose procedures, I have a six-month-long waitlist and the results are truly life-changing.
So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
Making the patient feel most comfortable in the skin that they are in. I myself was bullied for my own nose growing up and I believe that knowing what that is like firsthand makes me more relatable to my patients. When I hand them a mirror it’s not unusual to see tears of joy, and honestly I know just how they feel.
When the patient leaves my practice smiling or skipping to their car, my heart is then whole. Our outside affects our inside and our inside affects our outside, and that’s the truth. I truly love getting out of bed in the morning knowing that I am changing people’s lives. I love being part of that process, and I instantly create a really special bond with my patients.
