Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Bilotta.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Frank. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been involved in the art world for over 20 years representing artists. I by chance happened to meet Burt Young (actor is best known for his role as Paulie in the “Rocky” movies) at an art show in New York. We talked about his art as he loves to paint. He explained to me that is was not easy finding people to be trustworthy and having the right venues to show his work. It was hard for me to understand how a talented artist and famous actor would have a problem showing his work. We talked for a long time and he gave me all his contact information. This how my journey started with Celebrity Artists.
I did some research and found out that while there were a few galleries that may handle a Celebrity Artist, there were no galleries who were handling multiple Celebrities and who would always be showing their work.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel in any business it is never a smooth road. One always has to adapt. As for the Bilotta Gallery, we have rounded out our offering to not only have Celebrity Artists but also work with some very talented established artists as well. We have made our gallery into a fun and interesting place to visit.
Bilotta Gallery – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our gallery specializes in art by Celebrities and other established artists. At any given time we have the work of over 15 Celebrities hanging in the gallery. From Billy Bob Thornton to Billy Dee Williams to Tony Dow of “Leave it to Beaver” fame. We are constantly changing it up to keep everything fresh and interesting. We strive to make our gallery fun and inviting and in no way intimidating.
Our receptions have become very popular. Each month we host a reception for one or more our artists. Most people find it very hard to believe that they can meet and talk with some of their favorite celebrities.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
As an art lover, being able to show some very fine works of art along with some very interesting stories and history behind them is something I get to do each and every day!
