Today we’d like to introduce you to Elena Asher.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started offering lash services eight years ago, about three years into lashing people started reaching out asking for training. I started teaching private classes, then small groups, today Lash Makers certifies over 400 students yearly teaching lash art and business programs.
As the industry grew the demand for higher quality products grew with it I started a lash supply line for lush artists, it was a bottle of glue and tweezers at first which ended up a full line of 45 products selling worldwide. Aside from teaching and developing product line Lash Makers offers lash services in our Miami studio by four in house lash artists. Myself became international judge and speaker as Lash competitions and conferences became a big part of the industry which makes this business even more exciting.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like in every new business the beginning is the toughest part of course. The hardest thing is to stay committed to getting better just as you are committed to your idea and the actual goal. Perfecting the lash art takes time and patience but with that everything falls into place as the quality of work speakers loud and clear. My advise if I may – don’t try to skip the struggle. Staying focused and keep doing your best day by day is the key.

Lash Makers offers lash services, training, lash supplies. What sets us apart from other artists is exactly that – we are artist so we can’t be exactly the same and that’s the beauty of our business. We all have our own way of creating, I personally never felt like I need to complete, I simply wanted to do the absolute best work I possible can, for myself. I am proud of what Lash Makers has become mostly because we help people to start new business educating about our art. It changes lives for the better and gives new opportunities, this is priceless.
What do you love about our city and what do you dislike?
I am a die-hard Miami fan. This city is magic and there’s no place like it. Forever lasting summer is definitely my favorite part but Miami is so much more than that, it’s busy, it’s modern, it’s loud, it’s entertaining, this is home.
