Meet Deborah Wecselman of Deborah Wecselman Design in Ironside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deborah Wecselman.

DWD, Inc., was started in early 2000, when founder Deborah left her job at Polo Ralph Lauren in NYC for Miami in search of different lifestyle. Shortly after, thanks to word of mouth, requests for design help started flooding her and she decided to start her business. DWD is not a highly regarding boutique Interior Design firm handling projects all over the USA and foreign locations.

Has it been a smooth road?
There are always struggles along the way. We are a business of luxury and when the 88 financial collapse hit the United States it hit all luxury business throughout. Luckily, Miami is a vacation city too and therefore we received the calls of a lot of people that are in need of help because they don’t live here and they needed help to finish their projects.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Deborah Wecselman Design, Inc. story. Tell us more about the business.
At DWD, Inc., we like to be involved from the inception of a project and therefore work closely with the architect and client to conceive a seamless product. We are known of being very detailed oriented which is ultimately what you see when the project is completed.

We work with different vendors and are able to do all the construction aspects and coordination of a job. What we are most proud us the level of completion that we deliver, from the initial schematics to the advice we can give to clients on artwork and accessories at the end.

Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years?  Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
In 5-10 years I see a decline in the industry as more of the business is moving online and products can be ordered from home instead of stores. People are going to use social media and websites like Pinterest and Houzz to gather all design ideas.
