Meet Daphnie Montoya of The DMXperience

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daphnie Montoya.

Daphnie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The DMXperience is The Daphnie Montoya Experience, it’s me sharing my knowledge and experience with not just friends and family but my audience and businesses I meet along the way during my journey as a blogger. I began my blog not long after I sold my recent storefront located in North Miami Beach and I realized being a business owner was an experience but my love was to help small businesses. My first goal was to start my blog to be able to help businesses but then I began to learn more about blogging and networking within the community to realize I also love sharing the experience of a dish, place or event. So why not combine it all, that is how The DMXperience was created and how I found its name.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think everything has its ups and downs no matter what it is or what you do. It’s amazing to continue to learn everyday and gain knowledge. I honestly have not come across obstacles because blogging allows me to be flexible in what I truly love and that is sharing my experience and helping other businesses. I challenge myself every time no matter what it is because, just like trends change, there’s always room to gain more knowledge to add a twist to how I display my content. Who doesn’t love a little twist here and there.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a Food & Event Blogger who shares the experience with others to be able to enjoy delicious eats and fun in the city. While sharing the experience with others, I am able to help a business by sharing their services, products or dishes. I am known for showing up and having a fun time no matter where it is or what we are doing such as making a pizza with chopsticks or capturing that behind the scenes of how the dessert or food I just ate was made by the restaurant or baker.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The many Xperiences is how I got to this point with The DMXperience. Growing up in Singapore then being raised and made in South Florida was an interesting ride not including the in-between places I have Xperienced along the way. With living in various places and countries, food was always something that has been apart of my life. From walking MILES to the hawker center in Jurong, Singapore with my grandmother to coming home to help her cook and helping my aunt make love letter wafers.

Once I moved to Deerfield Beach, Florida, is when I was introduced by my parents to various industries such as General Contracting and the Restaurant Industry by helping with the operations and management of their businesses. Which led me to owning my own business in the Beauty Industry at the age of 15 then later ended up at Johnson & Wales University, Miami where I obtained my bachelor’s in Hospitality and specialized in Hotels and Events Management. So with all this background what am I doing today besides Blogging? I am a Full-Time License Community Association Manager, Nail Technician and Events & Operations, Director. Which in the future, I hope I can somehow include all of my Xperience to one blog.
