Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Del Sordo and Brandegee Pierce.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Danielle and Brandegee. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Stepping outside of our comfort zones was never a challenge for us. We are designers with a passion to make a difference. In 2013, we quit our Corporate America careers in Industrial Design (Brandegee) and Costume Design (Danielle) to travel the world. We lived out of a backpack for 18 months looking for inspiration to start up an eco-friendly company together. Ideas ranged from sustainable swimwear to a healthy food truck, and the list can go on. Fast forward 5.5 years and Pirani Life was born!
Most of our sports take place in the ocean, and we are lucky enough to live one block from it. As South Florida native water babies living an active outdoor lifestyle, we grew tired of seeing litter scattered across our beautiful beaches. One of the biggest offenders was always that iconic red party cup. This fueled Brandegee to design the first vacuum insulated version of it. After countless 3D-printed prototypes created in our home studio (a.k.a. the living room), he was determined to create the last party cup you will ever need and help put a stop to the billions of single-use plastic cups that are tossed every year.
July 30th, 2018, we launched a Kickstarter campaign for our first design – The Pirani Party Tumbler. It looks like a red Solo cup, but functions like an S’well bottle or YETI! This ultimate party cup is meant to last forever to help reduce the 500 billion cups used around the world each year. It successfully finished September 2018 at 450% funded!
Pirani Life’s mission is to create reliable and innovative products that encourage people to live more sustainably. The biggest sense of accomplishment is when people tell us that through our messaging and brand, we made them think twice about using single-use items such as party cups and plastic bags. We have both US and international customers, and although we are still in the “green” stages of building this brand, we have some exciting new sustainable products to release and look forward to partnering with organizations to create plastic free environments and spread the word!

Has it been a smooth road?
When you say smooth, do you by chance mean the bumpiest road we have ever taken?! (keep in mind we lived out of a backpack for 18 months).
Creating a startup brings many new business lessons and challenges our way. Luckily, we are lifelong learners and love a good challenge to overcome. We both have different skills and passions that we can bring to the table which helps balance out the business.
Working full-time jobs also creates a juggling act, but the positive responses to our product and mission are an inspiration to continue creating products that spread awareness to the plastic crisis in our world.

Pirani Life is an eco-engaging brand. Our goal is to create change in the way people take convenience for granted. As humans, it’s our responsibility to reverse some of these plastic habits we’ve learned since we were children in order to keep our oceans and world around. As designers, we feel it’s our responsibility to bring that difference into our products and tell that story through our mission.
Our hashtag/tagline is #partysustainably to prove that partying doesn’t have to produce mountains of trash and are hoping more individuals will consider alternative solutions like the Pirani Party Tumbler to single-use in the future. Rather than just sell a product, we want to sell a sustainable lifestyle, and at the end of the day if we can accomplish that, then we’ve succeeded in making a difference.
Our first product Pirani Party Tumbler also has some tricks up its sleeve as the first vacuum insulated with a rolled lip for smooth drinking. The 16 oz. party tumbler features BPA-free 18/8 stainless steel to keep your drinks cold up to 12 hours and hot up to six hours, along with a powder coating for an indestructible surface.
Each Pirani Party Tumbler has the standard pour measurements of the original Solo cup and comes with a secure lid. It truly is the last party cup you will ever need.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Miami/Fort Lauderdale is a great melting pot of connections to be made. We’ve had nothing but support from the community from the very first time we brought our Party Tumblers into the world.
We would recommend anyone to start a business here, especially a sustainable one as the world needs more of that! There are eco-warriors out there who feed our mission daily which we are grateful for. If you have a solution to a problem, we suggest going for it!
