Today we’d like to introduce you to Christiana Smith.
Christiana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in Africa, I migrated her with my family to get away from the terrible life that we had there.
Now here I am! In the United States after immigrating and going to college to get a “proper degree” I finally had the courage to get over my fears and put my hard work and dedication to opening my own boutique.
THE DREAM: To give AMERICAN LUXURY feel to every woman without them having to worry about the price tag.
I started Christo’s Closet out of my love for fashion, I wanted to provide women like me with real love for bodies a mix of Classy, and Sexy but Modest Clothing and accesories.
I also wanted to make sure to currate products made in the USA and offer limited edition fashion pieces like luxury designers. I mean, let’s face it every woman should feel like a million bucks without having to break the bank.
Supporting American made business’s is important to me. The quality of materials is superior. If we don’t support American made who will?
So when you shop at Christo’s closet you are not just supporting me you are supporting all the companies I currate the products from.
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not. I have two youngsters and a husband that I have to cater to on a daily bases. There are so many boutiques all over and it seems like I have to constantly encourage and push myself in front of my audience/customers. My biggest challenge is bringing myself in front of my customers. When I started my online boutique, I employed a few models to represent my brand because I wasn’t comfortable with modeling my own products. I didn’t feel like I have the Instagram body to model my own merchandise. A year later, after expending so much money and taking a loss, I decided to start modeling my own products which saved me tons money. I now model all my merchandise and I have gained so many more followers. Getting into e-commerce has Been one of the best educational experiences of my life besides working in the healthcare field. The things that I have learned from starting a business would be challenging to find in a business course. Praying have helped me overcome all my challenges.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Christo’s Closet – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My passion and genuineness. I desire to provide women like me luxury products without breaking their bank account. My goal is to provide women like me with real love for bodies, a mix of Classy and Sexy but Modest Clothing and accessories. I too wanted to make sure to curate products made in the USA and offer limited edition fashion pieces like luxury designers. I mean, let’s face it, every woman should feel like a million bucks without having to break the bank. Staying true to who I am as a person had helped me through my journey. I’m not into a trend. I get pieces that I know I would wear. My pieces reflect who I am as a person. My aunty used to say to me “quality over quantity”. Quality and Customer service is a major key in any occupation.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love how diverse the city is. Full of exotic people and places to visit and an amazing coastline with gorgeous sunsets. The one thing I dislike about the city is excessive heat and humidity.
