Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Hernandez.
Christian Hernandez is known as “The Miami God.” Born and raised in The Magic City, his Cuban background is fitting in his stomping grounds. Having grown up in various communities in Miami, Christian has truly gained recognition and familiarity with everything this Magic City has to offer. From as far north as Pembroke Pines/Miramar to all the way down South to Florida City, there’s no turf he has not ventured through. Proud of his roots, Miami is home and he intends to keep it that way. Christian is a proud graduate of Florida International University with his Bachelors in Communications. As an award-winning vocalist, dancer/choreographer, actor/director, he is highly active in the Performing Arts community and that is his greatest passion.
As a Director of Communications for the revolutionizing organization, Leading With Love, he is a full-on humanitarian advocating for causes such as education, female empowerment, human rights and community engagement. He also loves working on passion projects through real-estate, helping people find their new place to call home in the 305. Through his production company, you can find him teaching dance classes throughout Miami, choreographing quinceñeras, weddings, dance competition routines, and more! In his daily life, he can frequently be found traveling, staying fit, living as healthy and organically as possible, enjoying happy hour, and spending quality time with friends and family making memories. The Miami God’s mission is to make an imprint in Miami culture, allowing people to truly grasp this city’s essence through the work he continues to do. He aspires to make an impact with each interaction, project, and relationship he cultivates.
Has it been a smooth road?
There definitely were tough moments. Christian was raised by his single mother and due to having to move constantly, that definitely shaped him into a stronger and versatile human in many ways. From long commutes beginning at 5 AM to getting home around 8 PM, Christian has learned the true meaning of sacrifice, dedication, and commitment. Even though he was usually praised by his peers, he was different.He was bullied at times and although not victimized by it, he vocalizes this to hopefully inspire and allow those who have been there and are currently going through it that they are not alone; they can overcome it and truly grow. It wasn’t all bad and you must focus on the good — it’s what should fuel your fire.
At the age of 14, Christian discovered what Anxiety and Depression were and this truly was a pivotal moment in his life. He immediately knew he must pilot his own life for the better and not let the plane crash. It is imperative to learn how to take off and land the plane properly and ride through the turbulence of life. There are always many people who will try to control your thoughts and actions — you have to be careful about that. Mental Health Wellness was something he personally trained on and teaches others ever since to again inspire and help those who need it most. In his artistic career, there’s definitely been experiences that did not go to plan and looking back, he’s seen how that’s led him to the success of where he is today. If it were not for the unpleasant + uncomfortable experiences and people who he removed from his life, there would be no Miami God. Christian is blessed to have had family and friends who’ve loved him and supported him every step of the way throughout his life.

Christian Hernandez Productions has been a part of many experiences. However, they all are so personal and touching. To have worked with children and adults all at the same time has allowed for Christian to remember where he came from, to grow and aspire for something higher, but remain exactly where he is in the present moment because that’s exactly where he is supposed to be. From having choreographed dance routines in shows, quinceñeras, weddings, competitions, etc. to judging and a Gospel Dance competition with competitors from all over the state to having performed alongside Grammy Winner Ed Calle and Grammy Nominee Leslie Cartaya, Christian has worked with many people who have shaped his experiences and career to the next level and he is beyond grateful for his journey. He is so excited to continue to make magic happen and aspires to truly make a difference in the art community by making it louder, more prominent and overall inclusive in The Magic City.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Miami is a melting pot of all these beautiful cultures that makes it very difficult for the mundane. What you see in Coconut Grove is so different from so different from Little Havana or Hialeah, and so different from Kendall and Florida City, yet they all blend beautifully so well and tell a story. You can feel the history in the soles of your feet on every sidewalk. We must remember it and embrace it and truly soak in the culture to remember the past, learn from it, and continue to preserve and heighten the good in each town.
What needs to change in our city is the disparity between the cultures. There’s an unspoken form of disintegration and unity is anywhere but in this Magic City. We truly need to bring the spark to light that magic in allowing for more inclusivity, equality, and acceptance. Miami is beautiful because of all groups of eclectic people. We need that to be embraced and empowered in order for there to truly make progress. Together, we can change all local issues by coming together and working towards similar goals that benefit EVERYONE and not just one specific group of people.
