Meet Celeste Bonin of Celestial Bodiez in Deerfield Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Celeste Bonin.

Celeste, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far. I used to be a professional wrestler for the WWE. I was a connoisseur of fake fighting, A scholar in the art of storytelling …via beating the sh*t out of your opponent.

I left my career with WWE to launch a women’s fitness apparel brand. The original concept of the signature seam in my leggings came from inspiration from my wrestling costumes. One of the seamstresses that traveled with WWE would sew a rouching into my wrestling outfits to make pants more flattering on the booty. I thought it was the most ingenious thing ever.

My goal was to incorporate the seam into comfortable, flattering leggings. I created a prototype and I was off to the races.

Now, Celestial Bodiez is known for our coveted #Booty scrunch leggings.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you? There is no such thing as a “smooth road”. I mean…is there? Can someone put it in my GPS?

I never finished college. I had the chance to try out for WWE in the middle of a semester and I never looked back.

The idea of leaving my career in WWE and starting a clothing line was terrifying. There was a huge chance that it would fail and I would end up a crazy cat lady. However, I believed in myself and the vision. I had some steam behind me after having a television career. However, it was very humbling going from performing in front of thousands of people live and millions at home watching on tv to staying at home all day trying to figure out how to process postage on a package for my first orders.

I also was not happy with the first leggings I released. I rushed the process and ultimately learned my lesson.

I learn something new every day and it stems mostly from making mistakes.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Celestial Bodiez – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others. The Booty scrunch seam. I was the first brand to create the “scrunch” look in fitness apparel. Now there’s tons of companies doing it.

So, what’s next? Any big plans? The new collection I’m working on has a very different vibe. It’s kind of a street/steam punk version of active wear. I’m super excited about this because it’s an extremely close reflection of my personal everyday style.
