Meet Bronté Laurent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bronté Laurent.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2017, I began a small room operation in my Brooklyn loft to successfully launching my online store.

After working for three years in Advertising and Public Relations, I found my happy times were when I got home and helped my roommate, Yaphet, who was an established designer create. He would teach me how to sew and give me access to all his tools and sample fabric to make clothing. From there, I was obsessed with creating clothing and found my true passion. Within a year my brand, par Bronté Laurent was born.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been far from a smooth road for me, an exciting one yes, but very bumpy. Balancing a full-time job to support my brand, in the beginning, was very tedious and the cost of living for a single young professional in NY was very stressful. I would put the little I had into buying fabric and sleep became foreign to me. It also seemed to never be enough hours in the day to work full-time and get home to finish working on my latest design. However, my drive and great support system kept me going. After a successful first collection, the Universe continued to work for me and I was able to find a great manufacturer overseas which took off a huge load.

The road is still not smooth but it’s worth every minute as I get to watch my brand grow.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about par Bronte Laurent Co. – what should we know?
Miami based label, Bronté Laurent Co. is simple, fashionable outdoor lingerie wear made with satin materials created with the intent to make the fit so comfortable that you’ll never want to take your clothes off. My brand has been spotted on models and more recently singer, Kehlani, for her maternity shoot.

I think what sets me apart is that my brand promotes women’s freedom through clothing.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Two things, I believe my fascination with the female mind is most important with my success. Every one of my designs is made with one objective and that is to make the women feel confident, rebellious, timeless and sensual. I take pride in that and I think you can see and feel that when you wear my clothing.

Second, is my drive. I’ve always been a driven person and followed through on everything I start. Even when it feels like all the odds are against me I continue to push through and that drive is what created Bronté Laurent Co.
