Meet Brandy Stallings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Stallings.

Hi Brandy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It all started for me in 2015 after I came home from college. Lash extensions were just becoming a thing. People were doing them but not really in my city. I came across this page on Instagram and I told my mom, “I’m going to take a class and learn that” so that’s what I did. I took the class and immediately started taking clients. A lot of people were booking with me because like I said, not many people in my city were doing them. Fast forward to now, I’ve relocated to Raleigh, NC but since my hometown is Miami and people still ask about my services, whenever I do visit, I take a few appointments there as well.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh, definitely not, lol. I don’t think anything is ever a smooth road especially a business. I’ve struggled with a lot of this journey & still do if I’m being honest. One thing about a business is it can fluctuate. At one point you can be doing extremely well & at another business can be slow. It can be very discouraging but at the same time, it comes with it. My business was doing very well before I relocated to North Carolina. When I moved here, I had to really push myself (along with my husband, Bestfriend & mom, lol) to keep going. I had to basically rebuild my business again from the ground up to gain clientele and that wasn’t easy. Some days it’s still not, but I keep going.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a lash technician. That’s my thing. That’s what I do. I also like to think of myself as a life coach/therapist because my clients like to lay it all out when they come to their appointment, lol. I’m most proud of how far I’ve came & the quality of my work. I used to really critic my work & not be satisfied. But I worked to achieve that certain “look” that I wanted my work to give off. What sets me apart from others would probably be my faith. Because of my relationship with God, I run my business a certain way, I treat my clients a certain way & I uphold myself a certain way.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I think we all have. Covid taught me to one never take anything for granted. And two, all of these things in life don’t matter. Well, they do to a certain extent. But no matter what business you were running and no matter how good or bad it was doing, when God said sit down, the whole world literally had to sit down. Nothing really mattered except you and your loved ones. That’s all you had at that moment. It kinda showed that the things we’re always so wrapped up in can easily be taken away.
