Today, we’d like to introduce you to Billy Vidals.
Thanks for sharing your story with us, Billy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
“Growing up in NYC and moving to Miami about 16 years ago, I have always worked in an office. With that in mind, my office experience came with many of the same stereotypes that we all experience; you must be well-groomed, you must look presentable, and you must appear professional. I even remember purchasing grooming products at the local pharmacy, but struggling to find high-quality products that I thought would live up to my expectations. So, in 2018, I decided to do something about it. I opened up my own men’s grooming store that would cater to modern professional men. I wanted to source the very best products that I could find in the market, and ensure that every product upheld the highest quality standards from a formulation standpoint, and an experiential standpoint as well.
And in that same year, The Kings of Styling was born.
I wouldn’t have been able to successfully launch my business without the support of my family and friends, who I will always be grateful to. Over the last two years, we have gone from carrying our own brand products to including more than 17 different brands in our product line, and we still have plans for further growth on the horizon. Throughout it all, it’s certainly been a rollercoaster ride, but there’s nothing more rewarding than having your dream come true.”
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“Owning a business is a challenging endeavor, but it certainly comes with beautiful rewards too. To make the dream work, I’ve had to wear many hats to push my business forward. I have been a social media specialist, product photographer, content creator, sales manager, and so many other roles that don’t even come to mind anymore – in other words, it’s been a journey for me professionally, but it’s been such a great ride. I truly wouldn’t want it any other way.”
Please tell us about The Kings of Styling.
“At The Kings of Styling, we are focused on bringing new and exciting products to today’s modern gentleman. We offer the highest quality brands in health, beauty, styling, and grooming that the industry has to offer – and we make it all readily available, accessible, and convenient in a single, one-stop-shop. Moreover, the brands we work with are ethically responsible and ecofriendly in terms of their product packaging.”
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
“For me, there wasn’t anything I enjoyed more as a child then visiting New York City and walking through the endless hallways and gallery spaces in the great museums that are home to the city. I would love to look at different artists, study their painting techniques, and expand my mind to see the world in different colors from their point of view. Even today, my love for art has helped me so much throughout my journey – both professionally and personally.”
