Meet Bijan Samawat of ORA Dog Training in West Palm Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bijan Samawat.

Bijan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Berlin, Germany where I through out my various carriers spent a lot of time teaching people, i.e. Capoeira classes for kids and adults; running and intercultural awareness program for young adults who were part of a government funded project; crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to adults who work with children in boarding schools or foster home settings.

In 2011, I moved to Brooklyn, New York which is where Balam (the Weimaraner) entered the picture and I realized my coaching and teaching background was helping me to create a beautiful and strong relationship with my dog.

Utilizing my teaching background and educating myself and learning from other reputable dog trainers, I soon started helping other people and their dogs to find the right way of communicating with each other. This is when B&B Dogworks was born in Brooklyn, NY.

After 5 successful years in business and hundreds of well trained dogs later, I decided it was time for a change and to move to a warmer place. With the physical relocation it was also time for a facelift of the business.

ORA Dog Training is the product of the experience and knowledge I gained running B&B Dogworks for the past 5 years and I am happy to bring it now to West Palm Beach and its surrounding areas.

Has it been a smooth road?
Coming from another country and starting from scratch without family or friends was very difficult. Apart from learning the language and culture, rules and regulations of running a business building an entirely new network was a very big task.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with ORA Dog Training – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
At ORA Dog Training I work with families and their dogs. Together we teach the dogs basic obedience skills and I show the owners how to build a better and stronger relationship with their furry family member. I work with all breeds and ages and specialize in aggression and anxiety rehabilitation. The dogs that nobody wants to work with are the dogs that end up coming to me.

My approach to training is not limited to only one way or tool, as every dog, owner and situation are individually different. I have been working with rescue organizations in New York, helping them to get dogs that where unadoptable or returned to find fur-rever homes after going through my training.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I just moved to West Palm Beach and so far, I love being in Florida. I can ride my motorcycle every day, waking up to sunshine and warm weather is just amazing.
