Today we’d like to introduce you to Allan Wade.
Hi Allan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I originally started posting music videos on my youtube channel so people could hear my music. After purchasing a vinyl cutting machine that had no instructions, I decided to make a video to help others that might be having difficulty using the machine. Viewers started asking me questions so I made more videos to answer those questions and my channel began to grow.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth process. Sometimes I would post videos and not get many views but I kept posting. Other times I didn’t have time to make videos as consistently as I wanted due to my job but I kept on creating new content when I could. I never thought that being a full-time content creator was something that would happen to me because I just didn’t have that type of luck.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently specialize in embroidery but also create merchandise using methods such as direct to garment printing, screen printing, heat transfer vinyl and heat applied transfers. I’m most proud of how my videos have helped others supplement or replace their income. I always get comments and emails of people thanking me and it keeps me wanting to create new videos.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The best thing you can do for your business is to get started as soon as possible and learn along the way. When you make mistakes, you learn what not to do and while on your journey you will eventually succeed. All the mistakes along the way are valuable lessons that you can teach others not to make. Life isn’t smooth while on your journey, there will be bumps in the road. You can not concur the obstacles unless you face them head-on and find solutions for each obstacle you face.
