Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Mendez.
Hi Mark, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Started as a makeup artist back in 2000 and was traveling to do make-up at fashion weeks all over Miami, NYC, and LA. I became a model scout in 2014 and then became an agent a year from that in a small boutique agency in Beverly Hills.
Left the company and open my own agency from 2016 to 2018 and just decided to become a mother agent then someone give me a camera on one Xmas and became a fashion photographer.
I might as well since I’m developing models on my own fashion magazine started reaching out to me and I have been shooting for different magazines and agencies worldwide until now.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The hardest part is always when you still trying to figure out how to make real money and something sustainable and consistent in the industry now after years of struggling I found my niche and worked smarter.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
So basically, I’m doing both management a.k.a. mother agent, and a photographer.
I specialized in men’s editorial and lifestyle photography I’m truly proud of how I have been mastering my craft doing this after 5 years and I think my work is simple and classic.
When it comes to the style of my work; what sets me apart I guess I’m very knowledgeable and well connected in this industry enough coming from a model agent as my background cause I know exactly what agencies in every market need for the right look and style that are looking for in a model on there portfolio wise.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
That I also shoot girls and my shoots are not your average shoot I make sure the model will learn something they never heard before after they have shot with me.
