Life & Work with Isaac Rendon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Rendon.

Hi Isaac, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I took an interest in video editing in my teens and started with a few programs to get my wheels turning. Slowly engaged in indoor event projects that involved camera operation.

Years later in my adult life, I kind of picked up that spark again, a great tour buddy of mines offered if I would be willing to take a few video shots of their performance. I agreed, and this is when I told myself I could turn my hobby into something sustainable. Now 5 – 6 years later I’m in a place where I never thought id be.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the beginning, things started picking up as I was learning some of the new technologies in the video world which involved a lot of catching up to do.

Once I finally thought I got to a comfortable place pandemic was definitely a hard hit. It felt like a reset button in some ways worse and some ways for the better. One thing I definitely learned (for me at least) is “One day at a time”. Perspective was everything.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
One of the things I am most proud of is the look I provide, it kind of has its stamp.

This is the comment I hear almost all the time and the reason I say this is because I had a hard time accepting compliments and told myself I needed to do better but now, now I see it. I am grateful.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
As I’m aging (gracefully) one thing that never stops being a part of my daily remembrance is “Mister Softee” ice cream trucks.

When I lived in New York Queens (in the 90s) I remember always passing by these trucks and grabbing myself a soft cone swirl with chocolate sprinkles on top. Now every time I stop by an ice cream shop I always order the same thing. Nothing like going down memory lane.
