Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Cedillo Williams.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I started beauty school when I was 17 years old which started my career in the beauty industry as a cosmetologist and business owner for 14 years & counting. At the age of 19, I discovered the immeasurable personal gratification and happiness I could achieve by bringing others happiness through my skills as a stylist while working with a young client who was overcoming cancer. The monumental joy I was able to foster for her grew my passion and inspired me to be a world-class stylist. Fast forward six years— I was newly engaged and living in Hawaii when I began to gravitate toward the wedding industry. Although I had gained a reputation as a talented artist working on music videos, high fashion photoshoots, fashion shows, and television, I found that working with brides on their wedding day brought me the most joy. This is when I started my own business with a focus on bringing joy to brides on their wedding day. Fast forward to 2022, I have lived in five states in the last eight years. I am a wife, mother of two, and the proud owner of ECW Beauty. We specialize in bridal events and camera hair & makeup servicing hundreds of clients annually.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Pre-pandemic, I created a sustainable business while navigating the uncertainty of relocation surrounding my husband’s military career. In 2015 I officially started my wedding business in San Diego. Two years later, it was time to plan our relocation to South Florida. After spending hundreds of hours developing an award-winning company, I felt like I was losing everything. However, I knew that I had to create a business that would sustain and run if I relocated once again when I reached Florida.
Through the proper SOP’s, team members, and a concentrated focus on customer centricity and developing the talents of local artists, ECW Beauty hit the ground running in South Florida, receiving The Knot awards and Hall of Fame status.
We have opened a second location within the past four months and serve our clients at two great locations. ECW Beauty serves all of South Florida and areas neighboring Spokane, Washington!
The Pandemic, within weeks of the European travel bans and the mask mandates, ECW Beauty went from thriving to entirely upside down. I was nine months pregnant and beyond scared for the future. I took this time to invest in myself as an entrepreneur while finding ways to empower my network of mompreneurs and beauty artists. ECW Beauty would not have survived the pandemic without these amazing women and their support. Not only have we survived, but we have thrived and grown! Together, our growing team is stronger than ever, and I consider many of these women friends and family.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
In my senior year of high school, I discovered that there was beauty school as an elective option. Back then, I had no idea I could get a portion of my tuition paid for, credit for school, and get to leave school at lunchtime! I will never forget that lightbulb moment and my decision to sign myself up for beauty school at the age of 17.
