Life & Work with Amoi Wynn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amoi Wynn.

Hi Amoi, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started modeling in high school, and it’s always been a part of my life. Being in the environment of fashion, makeup, and creative people keeps me fascinated, even after six years. I got to where I am today because modeling has given me the chance to display myself unapologetically, inspire, and create whatever I want at any time.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been easy at all. I was always a full-time student, trying to get ahead in my health progression, working gigs and bookings from Miami to Orlando, maintaining a social life, graduating on August 10th and then my dad passing away August 19th; it’s never been a smooth road. However, if there’s one thing my dad taught me is that no matter how hard life tries to beat you down, you keep going.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I model professionally. I mostly do shoots for brands or anyone that has a business and needs a face or a muse. I’ve also done music videos and extra roles on a few tv shows. I’m known more for my photoshoots and just creating content. I’m most proud of my growth so far, this past year has flew by and it was filled with so many opportunities that I can’t speak on at the moment, but I’m excited for even more growth! What sets me apart from others is that I don’t try to put myself in a box and just do one thing.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Networking can get you in so many rooms that I think education just can’t It’s not really about what you know, but who you know. Networking is actually easier than it seems, for example, if there is a thousand people on a set chances are you are already leaving set with a few more contacts that have knowledge and know people that probably know more than you, but that’s the great thing about it. Having a bunch of creatives on set in one area is a blessing.
