Life & Work with Aileen Alvarado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aileen Alvarado.

Hi Aileen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My passion for the beauty industry has always been a really big part of my life, especially as a teenager.

Growing up, I was able to attend modeling & etiquette school to learn runway, makeup, and fashion. While being part of this school, we held seasonal fashion shows and I constantly found myself doing most of the model’s makeup and helping them retouch, I knew then I had an itch for the makeup beauty industry.

As a young adult, I always strived for the retail business since there are endless opportunities for networking and meeting new people every day.

My first big gig was working at Sephora as a cashier, however, at the time, I showed interest in what they used to call the “color world” which is the makeup side of Sephora. I would always love to help clients find the right shade of foundation or concealer and working at Sephora was really a big push to become the artist I am today.

A year later, I was given the opportunity of working for Univision reality singing show Reina De La Cancion, next thing you know, my client list got bigger and bigger. I was able to grow my business as a Celebrity Makeup Artist and continue growing and glowing.

I am now known as Naniisoglam for Naniisoglam Artistry with over 12k followers on social media between Instagram and Tiktok. I have clients from celebrities, and bridal, to quinces and more. Most of all, I am one of Morphe Brushes’ micro-influencers, which is one of my biggest accomplishments.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As an artist, I’ve experienced a lot of ups and downs but I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for those struggles. I had a very tough time figuring out who I wanted to be known for in such an over-concentrated industry.

How was I going to be able to set myself apart from the other entrepreneurs and artists in Miami? I love to educate, so I decided to start making videos on how to perfect certain looks and do’s and don’ts for makeup.

I started to grow my followers and the next thing you know I had videos with over 100k views go viral. In my humble opinion, I was the next big thing! So I knew then, that right there was my calling!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Makeup Artist – I don’t consider myself just an artist who’s going to charge you for an hour glam, no. I am someone who will help you reach a level of confidence you didn’t know was in you.

Help you feel beautiful and boost your self-esteem. By also educates you on how to fall in love with makeup and knowing how easy it can be to make it your everyday routine.

How do you define success?
Quality over quantity.
