Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Placyk.
Hi Cristina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my weight loss journey at the age of 40. I was never interested in fitness but wanted to make a change. I signed up for one of those 30-day challenges online after drinking a couple glasses of wine. Turns out that it was Crossfit! I stuck with it for about a year. Although I loved the challenge and grueling workouts, I had no knowledge of diet and nutrition, which resulted in weight gain.
In 2018 I was introduced to my Trainer/Coach. He helped me with diet and eventually started training me at his gym. After reaching my weight loss goal, I set what I thought would be an “unobtainable” goal. I wanted to become a NPC Bikini Competitor. With the help of my coach, I mastered an overall transformation. My lifestyle changed completely for the better. After my transformation, I jokingly named my coach the “MILF Maker” because I actually fell in love with fitness at such a late age. I became “MILF Made” (Mom’s in love with Fitness). I have a crazy sense of humor and I’m always wearing funny t-shirts. So why not make them myself? This business was created in fun and to share with others in the fitness community!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Although I would have loved for it to be smooth, it has been a challenge. I work a full-time job as a Practice Administrator for a busy Urgent Care Center/Primary Care Office with over 50 employees, am a busy mom to an active teen, maintain an active social life with my husband of 21 years, and train for upcoming competitions. Finding time to make my business grow on my own has been a challenge. It’s even more challenging because it’s an E-Commerce Based business. I’m also not one to ask for help, so I’ve been doing everything as far as marketing, website development, creating product, and processing my own orders. I’m slowing trying to find my niche and balance.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
MILFwear, LLC is a Bold and Fun Fitness Wear Brand with lots of double entendres. What sets MILFwear apart from others is the originality of the products. What makes me proud of my brand is that it has the “who cares what other people think” mentality. I want to share that message with everyone. MILFwear is a brand that keeps the humor in the hard work. It also gives people something to talk about. It’s an ice breaker and a head-turner. That’s what I really enjoy the most. MILFwear is currently selling women and men’s tanks, t-shirts, crop tops, and muscle shirts. I’m always adding new designs to keep products fresh. It’s a web-based store that accepts most forms of payments. I also offer discounts to new customers, returning customers and always have sales during holidays.
