Inspiring Conversations with Angelo Abbenante of Lynora’s

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelo Abbenante.

Hi Angelo, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a third-generation restaurateur. My parents, Maria and Raffaelle Abbenante immigrated from Ponza, Italy to the US and in 1976, opened the original Lynora’s in Lake Worth, Florida. I grew up working in their restaurant, and have always had a love for it. Almost 50 years later and I’ve expanded the then-closed restaurant to 5 different locations across Palm Beach County.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was never a smooth road, but obstacles and challenges are to be expected, and it’s what has gotten me and my team here today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Lynora’s is a family-owned and operated Italian restaurant with 5 different locations across Palm Beach County. The first location began back in 1976 in Lake Worth, Florida where my parents who had immigrated from Ponza, Italy, decided to bring their familial culinary traditions to the community. They retired after many years.

In 2013, after several restaurant endeavors of my own, I decided to bring life back into what my parents had started all those years ago. My first location is on Clematis in Downtown West Palm Beach, where my parents still bring life today. We have other locations in Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, and Jupiter, with plans to expand. We are known for our Meatball Mondays, Happy Hour, and lively weekend brunches.

What do you think about happiness?
Family. Bringing a familial atmosphere to all of our guests. Being a happy place for the community.
