Hidden Gems: Meet Sam Saenz of 333 Alchemy & Dollar Saenz Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Saenz. 

Hi Sam, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Thanks so much for letting me tell you about myself and my story! I am originally from Austin, Texas, and I moved to Miami in December 2020. Like many other tourists, I came to Miami and fell in love with the vibrant culture, architecture, beach lifestyle, and food, and I said I would move here. But unlike other tourists, I actually did it, haha!

When I got here, I thought I wanted to pursue a lifelong dream of having a juice company, which I did for a hot minute. It was such a left turn from what I’ve always done in corporate America: digital marketing, content strategy, and website creation. And while I really loved being able to dabble in a new venture; however, as I met other small business owners, I quickly saw the need for my corporate skill set in Miami. Plus, food prices were starting to become unstable, and dragging coolers of juice around to farmer’s markets wasn’t easy or glamorous.

Small business owners often do everything initially, including making their product, budgeting, payroll, inventory, marketing, etc. Because they are doing it all, their online presence usually gets put on the back burner. I believe a great website, content strategy, and an online presence on free social media platforms can 10x growth and revenue. The most common complaints I heard from small business owners at the farmer’s markets I was taking my juice to were, “I don’t have time.” or “I don’t know how to do it.” So, I reverted to my corporate skillset and figured out how to offer them effectively to small business owners.

Helping small business owners is something I’m super passionate about because I come from an entrepreneurial family, and it’s fulfilling to me to help others get their message and products out into the world. Plus, I know first-hand the common challenges they face and how to solve them.

I own two businesses that may seem very different, however, they both deal with language, human behavior, and mindset. 

My first business is Dollar Saenz Media, a digital agency where I use my 10+ years of professional experience as a UX Content Strategist to help companies create websites, social media, and blog content that clearly articulates their mission, brand, and services, to help increase sales. 

In addition to being a UX Content Strategist, I have spent the last two years studying Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and earned a certificate as an NLP practitioner. Recently, I started 333 Alchemy, a coaching business, where I hope to help clients undo negative programming, behavioral patterns, and limiting beliefs, so they can meet their personal and professional goals and manifest the life of their dreams! 

Oh and I almost forgot to mention, in my free time, I also blog about food, travel, and Florida lifestyle on my blog www.eatwelladventureoften.com. Technically, it’s my third business of mine and I plan to focus more on it in 2023. I love helping people find great restaurants and things to do in Miami and Beyond. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been anything but a smooth road! In fact, I have felt like the underdog for most of my career! 

When I first started as a Copywriter more than ten years ago, my craft was not respected and was even seen as a luxury! Now, Copywriters and Content Strategists are in-demand more than ever in almost every industry; however, it seems we are still fighting for a seat at the table. 

Over the course of my career, I have fought to demonstrate the value of my craft and the ROI companies can expect when they have clearer content on their websites and social media. 

And despite the fact that Neurolinguistic programming has been around since the 1970s, most people have never heard of it. Therefore, getting people to shift their thinking and mindset with unconventional techniques and visualizations they’ve never heard of is not the easiest. Their old thinking and speaking patterns are often deeply ingrained in their subconscious, requiring them to consciously change their daily habits, language, and thought patterns. This is deep work!

What were you like growing up?
I’ve always been a bit of a nerdy introvert with a passion for language, technology, and the outdoors. When I was little, I read the labels on products and studied how companies would word things, which led to my professional career as a Copywriter & Content Strategist. I have also always loved being outside and in the water, which is what led me to Miami.
