Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Kornblue.
Hi Paige, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I anchored and reported for award-winning NBC, ABC and FOX television news stations across the country for many years – most recently, WPTV (NBC 5 out of West Palm Beach). Once my three children came along, I transitioned from the news set to my most proud and rewarding job of full-time mom and also became the primary caretaker for both my mother and father. Today, I blend together all of those challenging and beautiful life experiences with news, travel, sports and community happenings on my lifestyle blog, www.paigekornblue.com. I love to highlight interesting people and places, the charities for which I emcee and the little thoughts I have about a lot of different things.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have learned that most paths aren’t always smooth. They can be for a while but can also get quite bumpy and that’s when you hold on tight and learn. One of my favorite quotes reads “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”
Some of the struggles I have faced throughout my career and adult life have been learning the best way to work on and tell tragic stories in the news business, figuring out how to rise above negativity in the workplace, navigating through media industry changes and learning techniques/technology those of us in my generation never learned in college, having three babies in less than two years, becoming a member of the so-called “Sandwich Generation” (caring for your children and aging parents at the same time) and finding time for self-care amongst it all!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Through the years I have always been a people person, ready to help and curious about new adventures and opportunities. I equally enjoyed sports and performing arts throughout my childhood so I love that I found a career where I could combine storytelling and writing with news, travel and sports. Every day is different as a journalist and I’m thrilled that I can still create, travel, tell stories and emcee while being a hands-on mom to three very busy little people.
