Today we’d like to introduce you to Kilene Williams.
Hi Kilene, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always been an avid writer. It has proven to be quite therapeutic through the years. It’s a form of expression that allows you to release your thoughts without interruption. I have published two works of fiction thus far. ‘I Am My Sister’s Keeper’, and the sequel, ‘His Eyes Are Watching’. Aside from writing, professionally, I have served as a teacher in secondary education and in education management. I too, have served as a Grant Administrator and in other management positions within the nonprofit arena.
I am proud of my accomplishments and grateful for my degrees and educational experiences. However, I think it is imperative to note that I gained unmatched hands-on experience in providing stellar customer service through my colorful work history. I also worked in the liquor industry in sales and promotions for years and, most recently, distribution. In one way or another, my personal and professional experiences have gotten me to where I am today. I recently founded Bleeding Ink Creatives, a boutique publishing agency based in South Florida. Our vision is to support indie authors by cultivating a creative house for their literary works through publishing, editing and writing.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not always been smooth, but every step has been worth the journey. I have begun to move away from giving power to the varying obstacles that have been placed before me, just waiting to trip me up and deter me from my goals. I don’t believe in coincidences. For one reason or another, there will always be something or even someone that may serve as a roadblock for you on life’s journey. The key is to take life’s lessons and own them as blessings right along with your accomplishments and successes. With patience and perseverance comes clarity and direction. Surround yourself with only individuals that truly want to see you grow, prosper and win.

Bleeding Ink Creatives is a boutique publishing agency based in South Florida offering publishing, editing and writing services. As a publishing house that passionately supports and celebrates the success of independent authors, we enjoy the freedom of welcoming all genres of writing. Our editing services include but are not limited to: Manuscripts, Handbooks, Essays and more. With writing being our first love and the reason for diving into published works, we currently offer three types of writing services: Freelance, Ghost and Grant.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Swimming is in my blood. I have been swimming since I was nine months old. My favorite childhood memory that I loved to hear my parents talking about was of me falling into the pool at nine months old and actually swimming towards the edge. Of course, my father pulled me out as he was standing right at the edge watching me, and after that my mother insisted on swimming lessons at home. A true water baby, I have always loved working and relaxing near water, whether it be at the beach or the pool.
