Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Ulerio Espinosa, Rachel Ulerio Espinosa and Cinthia Ulerio.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Whitney – We are sisters originally from the Dominican Republic, Cinthia is the oldest one, then is Rachel and then me, the little one of the house. Since we were little, we have always liked to cook. It was fascinating for us to be able to mix flavors and create new dishes for our family and when any festivity would come up, Cinthia and Rachel were always looking for ideas on how to decorate, what to serve, and many other things that incline them to plan the whole party. On the other hand, I always felt incline to make desserts, bake cakes, and sweets for any special occasion. So we got together one time and thought about the idea of making it a business, but Cinthia had moved to the United States, and Rachel and I were in the process of moving there as well, so we decided to wait until we were all together again to make this happen. After coming to Florida, we started planning how to start our company and what we are bringing to the table that is new to the market we are launching ourselves into. So we came up with the idea of starting our party planning business with desserts, so we created LetterTaste LLC.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been easy for us. We opened our company back in 2020 at the beginning of the Pandemic, so when I say the struggle is real, it is. We had to close for several months due to restrictions and as well as the fact that we were under quarantine and getting cookies from a home-based company might not be the first thought when you are in the middle of a pandemic virus, but we made those months productive and came up with new recipes for our Everyday cookie line in our menu which includes snickerdoodles, red velvet, macadamia with white chocolate chips, and peanut butter cookies.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a home-based Cookies and confections company that specializes in letter cookies for any occasion. We create boxed cookies with that special message our client one to say to someone. We also love to bring our knowledge of Dominican desserts to our menu, which makes us unique when preparing candy tables and party decorations for anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, and more. Some of the products that separate us from other bakeries are our Sabrosura en Pote or some clients might call it “Cookie Jars,” our cupcakes which are made with a Dominican batter and filled with our homemade fillings like pineapple, guava, and Dulce de Leche. We are also incorporating edible images into our cookies, cupcakes, and personal size cakes which lately has been our customer’s favorite.
We are constantly evolving. Currently, we are updating our website and bringing new things to our menu. We cannot be more excited for what’s to come.
Any big plans?
Letter Taste LLC is only the first step in our party planning goals. As we said before, we would love to have a party planning company as the head of our many different services to offer, where the clients can hire us for their sweets, their decorations, or any other services that would become available as we grow.
