Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Silverman.
Hi Samantha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a Talented, Passionate Graphic Designer & Photographer that creates Timeless, Beautiful Photos & brings Designs to Life! I was born and raised in the Garden State, New Jersey. Artistry runs in my blood. My grandfather was a Vice President creative director for over 20 years as well as a freelance graphic designer and a watercolor artist. My father attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia and had become an Art Director for over 15 years and now custom builds Chevrolet Yenko Camaros for customers all around the world. I started photography around the age of 12 once I received my very first camera as a birthday present. From visiting local Zoos and Tourist Areas or traveling to surrounding states, soon after fell in love with the trade. I was accepted into an art-based program throughout high school and later received my Adobe Certified Associates certificate in PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator. Not only did I learn about the programs within graphic design, I also learned the techniques of traditional and digital photography including Film and Darkroom Photography, Studio Lighting, and Multimedia Photography. While in this art-based program, I also learned about conventional printing and Digital Reproduction. The techniques I learned that are a bit more involved included Design and Reproduction, Screen Printing, and Production Graphics.
After graduating in 2016, I moved over 1,200 miles from home to continue my education at Nova Southeastern University here in South Florida. I was awarded to be an ambassador of the Razors Edge Shark Talent Scholars Program where I was able to brighten NSU with creativity and culture. From working as the Graphic Designer and Photographer throughout campus departments, joining the Sigma Delta Tau – Delta Iota Chapter Sorority as well as forming lifelong relationships with not only my fellow peers but faculty and staff throughout college, my experience at NSU was amazing to say the least. In the blink of an eye, I graduated in 2020 receiving my B.A in Graphic Design as well as in Studio Art and Marketing.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
After years of nonstop hard work and dedication, I knew I wanted to have a business or platform to call my own. For years, I have gone back and forth on business names, brand identity and overall services for the business I now proudly call my own, Silverpoint Graphics. This is not just a photography company or just a graphic design company. Silverpoint Graphics is a company where you can feel at home. A safe space for your creative ideas to be free and understood. As the owner and founder of this beautiful business, there’s nothing more I want than our customers to feel comfortable when working with us. Silverpoint Graphics offers a wide variety of services from individual and group photography sessions events including birthday parties, bar/bat mitzvah, engagements and weddings. More photography services are available per availability and request. We also offer graphic design and printing services. Our graphic design services include all custom design works, social media design, web and mobile graphics, typography as well as concept and content. Some examples of our printing services are business cards, flyers, brochures, 3-D printing, banners and signage, stickers and vinyl decals and so much more! We strive in working one-on-one to help create your unique brand identity through images and graphics.
How do you think about happiness?
The dreaded question of “what makes you happy?” As a lot of people may say materialistic things like clothes, cars, money and such, the things that make me happy are very different. I’ve always been a happy & silly person although there have been some times in my life when I haven’t been fully or true to myself. I find it very difficult to be around negative people who can’t find positivity in anything they do or see. On a daily basis, I surround myself with positive & influential people. Whether it’s family, co-workers, or even strangers, being around happiness and positivity helps bring out the best in me and my work. I find happiness in the little moments. Bringing joy to not only people but animals too. On a weekly basis, I go to my local animal shelter; Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Center, and show unconditional love to the animals looking for a FURever home. I have three rescue dogs of my own named Ollie, Mae and Lily. They are the reason I’m still here today. The unconditional love and support I get from them the moment I wake up until the second I fall asleep is unexplainable. Although some may say they are just animals but it’s so much more than that, they are my family. Simple things like going to art galleries, a drive down A1A, listening to Luke Combs or simply staying at home editing photos can bring so much happiness into my life. Delivering a photo gallery to a client, receiving the client’s approval on a design order but overall hearing that I have and continue to make my family proud brings me so much happiness.
