Daily Inspiration: Meet Ryan and Savannah Parker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan and Savannah Parker.

Hi Ryan and Savannah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Ryan: Well we started our business in the summer of 2020. Savannah had just graduated in the spring, and we were at the beginning of the pandemic when everything was closing down. We were both freelance graphic designers and wanted to build our graphic design and photography company. We wanted to do the things we’ve always loved to do for a living.

Since then on, we’ve been working together on various projects, and we are currently in the process of opening a photography and graphic design studio.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Savannah: Our journey has not been smooth. Like anything in life, there are bumps in the road. We’ve battled shady landlords, problems with printers—you name it. With that being said, we do acknowledge that our journey could have been more difficult had it not been for our parents. They have supported us throughout this entire journey.

They guide us in everything we do. Without them, I don’t think we wouldn’t have been able to do the things we do now.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Ryan: Savannah and I specialize in graphic design and photography. We design logos, websites, marketing materials, and digital illustrations to name a few. I would say the thing that I am most proud of would be the art that we’ve created. I love being able to bring different ideas to life in a way that makes our clients happy. The thing that sets us apart from others is our versatility. We’re a one-stop shop; we offer a wide variety of services.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Savannah: A piece of advice that I would give someone starting is to not get sidetracked. When we decided to start this business, we got so excited about all of the possibilities. We got so excited that we started to stray from our original business plan and spread ourselves too thin. Everything became so overwhelming.

This brings me to my second piece of advice: it’s ok to have to go back to the drawing board to regroup. That’s what we had to do. We had to kind of go back to the basics. We had to remind ourselves what our original plan was and focus on that first.
