Daily Inspiration: Meet Diondre Mompoint

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diondre Mompoint.

Hi Diondre, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my love for the natural sciences from when I was a teenager. I was never too sure of where I would land myself career-wise, but I knew it would have to be science related. This interest followed me into college and led me to pursuing my degree at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. My brain was fed with more questions as I took courses in undergrad; I began to be so obsessed with scientific knowledge to a point where I decided that I would contribute to academia and writing philosophical science books of my own. After graduating and acquiring my degree in Biological Sciences, I started Dre’s Tutoring in 2019 to help college students in difficult courses. In 2022, my debut book, “A Paradoxical Life: Where Did We Come From?” was released to the public. To this day, I continue to contribute to the scientific community looking to provide scholarships, promote academia and positivity in the future.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It was definitely no walk in the park. To get here, it started with adjusting my confidence and accepting failure multiple times. I was not a 4.0 GPA student like my colleagues. I did not publish hundreds of papers about some long-named bacteria. I barely got into a research program at my school. My qualifications for teaching had always made me think that I was incapable. The authors of the books that I read looked nothing like me. It took me a while to overcome the insecurities of not having the accolades that I see other authors and scientists have. After building the confidence that I needed, I was able to be that author/scientist I always knew I could be.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an author, biologist, and the Founder and Chief Editor for Origins Weekly Blog. I am probably most known for my extreme obsession with biology, the origin of life and promoting positivity. At the moment, I am most proud of the release of my book, “A paradoxical Life: Where Did We Come From?”. This is mainly because there is a strong message to readers about striving for what you believe in. I’ve had a chip on my shoulder for too long and I can only imagine others that experience the same feeling as myself. All the content I provide is open-ended and always adds some sort of positive touch to help people who are discouraged.
