Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Wilson. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Ooh la luxe was founded in 2008 in Petaluma, California: Twin sisters Cristina and Michelle Wilson started The store immediately after graduating from Sonoma State University. But Ooh La Luxe wasn’t the first business endeavor for the Wilson twins- they were able to open Ooh La Luxe with the profits from a successful drive-through coffee business they owned and ran in college.
We originally opened in downtown Petaluma in a loft on top of another business, but it only took a year for us to outgrow that space and move into our roomy location in Petaluma. We continued to grow into three thriving locations and a website that ships worldwide.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There is always struggles with having a business. Although we have been very fortunate and successful, our biggest struggles were our name change and rebranding, moving spaces, and of course, navigating through Covid.

Ooh la luxe specializes in excellent customer service and a beautiful aesthetic. We work very hard on our displays and want customers to get a sense of inspiration while shopping in our retail stores. We specialize in branding and coming up with cute packaging and special displays. Our brand’s vibe and aesthetic is very important to us.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson is to know that there are ups and downs and to roll with them. Being able to be positive when there are hard times and finding the light in every situation.
