Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoe Deuce Papi.
Hi Zoe Deuce Papi, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story started with me running around the neighborhood playing street football and doing what every young kid does that’s outside all day everyday. I started playing football at G.Holmes Braddock and Hialeah High School, I also played my senior season with a torn ACL still outrunning people. I then went on to play collegiate football, but with having a couple more knee surgeries football ended for me. I then came back to Miami to try and figure things out and one day, I decided to up and leave and move to Los Angeles. Honestly for a while, I battled with having so many surgeries that I went into a slump and while making the transition into living in LA, I always had a way with words and decided to do a couple of Poetry Open Mics and I seemed to do well where people were telling me I might as well rap and I tried it, at first I never seen myself to even want to be a music artist, I never wanted to fall into the cliche “oh he’s trying to rap”, but it became more of a therapy session expressing myself through music.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing has ever been smooth for me, growing up I’ve always faced adversity so sometimes I think I’ve become numb to the hardships of life. Since a kid, I’ve always took risks on myself to try and be better. I’ve overcome four major knee surgeries “Torn ACL, 2 Patella Tendon Ruptures and a Meniscus Tear. Honestly having major surgery does have an effect psychologically, Mentally and Physically.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Most people know me from football, but now I’m a musical artist. You listen to my music, you’ll get snippets of my life, motivation, free game and overall just a vibe. Good Fellaz MuZik that’s what I like to call my style of music, being calm, cool, collected doing what you got to do and making things happen and staying away from the extra stuff. I also like to live and express “GABOS” meaning Game Ain’t Based on Sympathy. To me, the meaning is exactly what it says. Life doesn’t owe you anything and life won’t stop on your bad days, everyday you gotta get up and get to it cause there’s always someone else working to where you are or working to be better, everyone has their flaws/ troubles.
Any big plans?
For the start of 2022, I released my first mixtape called ZOETRY. It’s a 16 track project which contains an array of many different flows on top of soft suddle melodic trap beats. I’d love it for anyone who is reading to listen, like, subscribe, comment, share and be added onto any of your playlists. Good Fellaz MuZik, Patron Make You Shone, You the Best and Zoetry are my top 4 Favorites on the Mixtape.
My plans are to create a stable audience who listens to my music and can relate. I also want to build up my brand and expand into different avenues.
