Today we’d like to introduce you to The Arc.
The Arc project is a collaboration of artists inducing deep bass rhythms and carefully blending it with a tribal shamanistic sound that is intended to break boundaries and mix multiple genres into one spiritual plateau of funky and futuristic mind-bending music soaked in earth shattering lyrics. The three main members consisting of Knowah (Bass, Keys, Guitar, and Vocals) – Def. Adept (Drums, Synths) – and Beat Thief Inc (Turntables, Looping Station and Backup Vocals) all coming from different musical backgrounds that make up this live mix of Reggae, Dub, Hip Hop, Electronic, Rock, Jazz, Blues, and Funk. “We have all worked together on other projects and it was inevitable that our paths cross at some point to create this new sound”. Def. Adept (the former drummer for the Bastard Suns), and a collaborator and producer with Beat Thief Inc on “Supervillain Society of the Universe”, along with Knowah (who features on the first and second albums of the project) have planned to announce several top tier features on their upcoming debut album from connections made during Beat Thief and Knowah’s former project “Space Coast Ghosts” in addition to years of experience in studio and on stage all members of this project have toured the country with some of the most influential bands and artists in the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge we have is time. Everyone’s schedule is important, and getting together all as one entity is sometimes hard to manage. But thankfully, we can all contribute remotely in some way to help maintain balance in between. We may create a beat and send it while Knowah is on tour and tweak it when he gets back, or he will send notes or stems to add while he is gone. So far, we have almost an entire album ready to release hopefully by the end of the year. Transforming all of this sound into a live act has been an obstacle as well with all of the different styles we bring to the table. The struggles are part of the Journey. We welcome them.

We make music that sends a message of unity, real-world issues, and prophetic rhythm that cycles around global topics meant to inspire and transcend kindness and knowledge to the masses. We would also like you to get down to the groove on the dancefloor and have fun while doing all of the above.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Always stand your ground when it comes to your beliefs and connection to a higher purpose. As long as it’s done with the best of intentions, you can never really fail. Even when you lose, you gain a life lesson. Each lesson brings you closer to your goal. Get out there and make goals, tackle them, and let them beat you up a little bit. You will bounce back stronger every single time.
