Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Martinez.
Hi Sierra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a California native who moved to Florida to continue my NFL cheerleading career and open my swimsuit company. There are many reasons why I chose swimwear. As a woman studies major in college, I’ve always had a passion for women’s empowerment and servicing women. My why is simple. “To empower women to love themselves and explore the world”. Exploring the world is the key that sets our brand aside.
We encourage women to travel in #mohitamami as they gain confidence in themselves, they will also learn the beauty of what the world has to offer them and what they have to offer the world. Being in a swimsuit is one of the most vulnerable attires anyone can be in. Here at Mohita Mami we want everyone to feel their very best in their own skin.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There have been some challenges with starting the business, as for any small business, starting up is the most difficult challenge. The biggest challenge is building the brand and getting it out there.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a professional NFL dancer, pageant queen, women’s empowerment activist and all-around entrepreneur. I am most proud of being able to help other women start their businesses and support them as they follow their dreams. Aside from managing Mohita Mami, I also created an Instagram platform @Top_notchwomen that provides a place for new business women to network and collaborate.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I loved sports and being involved in extracurricular activities. Aside from dance and cheer, I’ve always had a passion for design as well. I kept a notebook where I drew swimsuits and formal dress designs.
