Conversations with the Inspiring Maria Rivera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Rivera.

Maria, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
From an early age, I’ve been encouraged by my mother to experiment with different craft mediums, which I did until about high school.

Later after college, that need to create began growing and I started a small Etsy shop where I made dolls as a pass time. But as the years passed my interest in other things distracted me and I decided to close the Etsy shop and to meditate and look within as to how I wanted to proceed.

During this time I took my first trip out west and literally was floored by the Grand Canyon, which changed something deep within. Since then the need to slow down and enjoy this beautiful life influences much of my existence. Embroidery turned from enjoyment to a passion and weaving and macrame a hypnotic relaxation; this is how MacuNana came to existence.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s always a bit of struggle. Mines is the balance of time, time to make, promote, social media, full-time job, family. But the best advise I can give is to do your best always and don’t beat yourself up IF. There’s always a what if, but if you give tour best always, things will work.

what should we know about MacuNana? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
