Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelly Milgram.
Hi Shelly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Originally born in Israel, I moved to the United States at the age of eight. I have always had a passion for interior design and architecture. I love creating new gorgeous spaces, and my goal has always been to capture the wow factor in each project.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and Architecture from the School of Architecture at Florida International University. I founded YOLO Interiors in 2003 and have worked on all types of projects including many high-end projects, restaurants, offices, lobbies, and more. I love changing the way people live and design each home to have its own unique and beautiful personality.
Whether it’s a master bedroom turned into a resort like a retreat, a state of the art kitchen, a fairytale kid’s bedroom, a future jock’s room, I inspire the way people live each and every day.
We were recently featured in AD (Architectural Digest) for being one of South Florida’s top designers. We were also featured on NBC6 news two years ago for donating over 23,000 yards of fabric in the early stages of the pandemic so people can make masks for first responders, the elderly community, and the homeless.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been pretty smooth. Last year was our best year yet thanks to the pandemic and residents itching to remodel their homes since purchasing a new home has been very hard due to the prices more than doubling.
We’ve been impressed with YOLO Interiors, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Yolo Interiors is a full interior design and remodeling firm. We specialize in projects ranging from $30,000 and up. Including kitchen remodels, bathrooms, bedrooms, main living spaces, outdoor living spaces, full home remodels, additions, etc… What sets us apart from all the other firms is our vibe and honesty. We are very honest with our clients and they appreciate it. We don’t tell them what they want to hear but suggest what would look beautiful and perfect in each space of their home. We are very easygoing and our firm’s environment is very comfortable and chill. We are not a stuffy / untouchable type of firm. We create beautiful and practical spaces for our clients to live in and enjoy each day, not “museum” like rooms that nobody is allowed to go in and use. Each space in the home has a purpose and a personality, we just bring out that personality with furniture, wallpapers, fabrics, and beautiful finishes. The reward for us is the expression on the client’s faces when everything is completed and they see the end result and the tears start rolling and the hugs start flowing!
