Check Out Romina Daniele’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Romina Daniele.

Hi Romina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I studied art criticism, history of art, aesthetics, architecture and town planning, theory and history of photography, and degreed Cum Laude in Cinema Studies at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University in Naples Italy. The way I approached the photography world is very cinematographic. My studies have been fundamental for my path and what I have learned during those years is like a golden chest for my mind and soul. As you probably know by living in Milan for many years, I gained wide experience in music and performing as well. I also studied technologies applied to art, sound technology and multimedia at the Milan Conservatory.

I have been working in music technology and multimedia, gaining some well-known prizes, as in the field of photography for prestigious clients and agencies for events, exhibitions, live shows, luxury properties for sale, catalogues, booklets, and other. I have published 3 books and 3 records with my name and 3 collaborations, worldwide, and I had the chance to work in the records and books publishing field as well for my own RDM Records since 2010.

Around the same years, I have been bond of an ongoing “Berlin project”, focused on the history of Berlin and its wall and architectural, after which i went into the photography field deeper and deeper.

Art and technology are at the base of my vivid photography activity, and arise in some of the most significant pictures I took.

In Miami since 2018 I have been working in all those fields and more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are specific moments and connections that brought me here and now to photograph for living, as said. I also provide videography services, and I love to deliver a highlights video with all the events photoshoots I do. That’s because I love the art of fixing images on the support, as in the first place I love the world of cinema and what it represents in history of art. If you think that photographing is the essential step, the basic one, of taking motion pictures, you can easily focus on how the two worlds are intimately connected. Then you would need to focus on the fixed image, or on the sequences and scenes of pictures in motion. Photography is the first one.

While I was mostly photographing architectural and properties in Milan, since I am in Miami my work is growing engaging with people. The nature of this wonderful city is asking me every day to do that. So, I keep working with real estates, businesses and artists, as well as I work with families and groups of friends for any of their photography needs.

That’s probably the challenge I had lately, if you think I have always been used to work by producing pieces of art, and art requires a mindful, focused, a deeply connected with mind and soul approach. What I learnt is all those things can be combined together and you’re going to have stunning family portraits or events pictures by photographing with my approach.

I am also happy to say I am collecting very nice reviews from people I am working with, and you can check them for example on Thumbtack or Bark profiles I have.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Well, with all that said, what I am focused on while photographing is catching what I call  “the magic of images”. It is the essential of photographing as well of filming, and it is a unique, very unique, peculiar quality only technology had shown to us historically. This kind of “magic” then, is related to  the universe of recorded sound, as the unique ability to stop and fix a specific time frame, and reproduce it, only technology gives to humans.

Now, painting and making concerts have been the ways of making art and music for centuries and you probably would think: man has always been able to reproduce the reality in sounds and pictures. However when you write music on the sheets and then you go to a concert to play that music, there are other steps and levels involved in the process, and devices acting, so you can’t actually tell that music is the same. — This is the great thing about concerts, that you can listen to different variations every time, like any painting is different. — Sheets of music are a device different from the music it-self allowing us to read it every time we need to play. On the other hand, the record is the music it-self and is one thing with the way it has been recorded, which means recorded sounds can be reproduced again and again in the unique and exact way they have been played a specific moment and circumstance. That’s the greatest and very unique thing of technology. When you fix a frame or sound on the support you can see it like never before.

What technology does by entering in the world of the human beings is a complete change of paradigma, things will never be the same when man starts with photography and then with recording music and cinema back in the 19th century. And then cinema is the multimedia par excellence and has no equal, however that would be another matter. From that moment on, realty could be perfectly reproduced in a fixed second or time frame, and by seeing that second in the photograph or that time frame in a movie scene, man’s eyes start to be able to analyze the reality itself like never before. Photography and cinema, as well as the recorded music, allow us to reproduce the reality countless times: we can watch that perfectly fixed second of reality with a photograph continuously, and we can watch that perfectly fixed time frame of reality with a movie scene continuously as well. Like never before.

All the fields of cultures, from philosophy to music and art and human life changed completely with the entrance of technology into the world.

Going finally to my point and being back on my photography activity, and giving the photograph as the essential step of recording images, as I wrote on my website: when you catch the second with a photograph, you fix the image on the support, and you are able to really see and discover details and facts you cannot see otherwise. So when you work this way with images, you learn to love the magic of the moments. Every day life has fast rhythms and eyes have no chance to see the details of the amazing world we live in, or even details about ourselves when we get photographed.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
With all said, I care about clients’ expectations, we are all unique and unrepeatable humans, and catching what customers wish is and remains my top priority.
