Check Out Mya Williams’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mya Williams.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m your favorite Jewelry Lady but I actually started out just being a jewelry lover. I always believed that you can accessorize on a budget and still look great. I started buying $5 Paparazzi jewelry in 2018 and that’s how I got started. October 2019, I decided to become a consultant and I’ve been The Jewel Connect ever since. I started hosting a series of pop up events to get myself and some of my peers more exposure for our small businesses. These pop ups have helped a number of my vendor family and we support each other.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely had its share of potholes. The support wasn’t there from the few I thought I get it from. Don’t get me wrong, I have a couple of very supportive people in my corner. I think I was expecting the same level as support as I give out. The biggest challenge was not having online sales. The next was doing Facebook lives to show my products(my nerves got in the way). Lastly getting and keeping inventory just in case there was a good sales day. Despite the bumps in the road, I continued to promote myself and my jewelry. I began accessorizing customers one necklace, bracelet, earrings or ring at a time.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I was a Community Mentor working for the Champion City Mentor Program in my school district. I currently work in the Transportation Department in the same school district. I’m most proud of my work ethic. I’m all in when it comes to something I’m passionate about
