Today we’d like to introduce you to Martha Savloff.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 2017, I was at crossroad not only professionally but physically. I wasn’t feeling great inside or out. In July of that year, I had that moment when I knew I needed to make a change before it was too late. I had been struggling with my weight for over 20 years and I knew I had to take action to change my life. I finally made a commitment to put myself first! With a new mindset, I lost a good amount of weight in a short period of time, and I felt amazing. Having been in healthcare my whole career, I wanted to do something that would inspire not only myself but others, too. I founded Inspire Weight Loss in October of 2017 and at 40 years old, I fearfully went back to school and earned my Master Certification for Health Coaching. It all started with me working out of the trunk of my car, doing house calls, and seeing a handful of clients each month. Now, I’ve got a beautiful center in Davie where we see an average of 45 clients a day. Over the last four years of my life, I’ve been full of gratitude that at 40 years old, I could re-invent myself not only physically and emotionally, but professionally, too, all while having the honor of making a difference in so many people’s lives.
There are many people like me who have tried everything under the sun to improve their quality of life but couldn’t understand why their self-confidence was non-existent. I work every day to help others rediscover that self-confidence and self-worth that I’ve had an opportunity to reignite by lifting their heads, looking them straight in the eyes and telling them, “You are not alone. You are worthy and you can do this just as I did.” The mission of Inspire is to show all our clients that not only do we care, but we relate to what they are going through too. We believe so strongly in that idea that, in January of this year, we decided that we wanted to bring Inspire Weight Loss to the entire country through a franchise model. All our Inspire Weight Loss franchise locations across the United States will share these same ideals and programs that have allowed me and all our clients to realize their best selves. My desire as the founder of Inspire is to spread the message to people everywhere that weight loss doesn’t have to be painful. It can be a beautiful journey that, with the right support, compassion, community, and programming can reveal the life within.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No! Definitely not. At some point along the way, I was very close to closing my doors, but I knew I had a mission in my heart that needed to come to pass…so I pushed, persevered and took a risk…and it paid off! As a start-up the budget is very tight and marketing although probably the most important investment….was the last thing I had any money for. I had to wear a lot of hats and one of those required me to tap into pretty much any free marketing I can get. Social Media. I had to face my insecurities and fears and put myself out there and post-post-post away. Till this day, I still struggle a bit to put myself out there, but if I don’t…then how can we impact more and more lives?
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Master Certified Health Coach. Inspire specializes in bringing to the community a safe place that understands their frustrations and help them attain their weight loss and body goals. We have put together an amazing natural lifestyle program and body contouring program that is effective and sustainable. It’s not a restrictive crash diet that once you stop-you gain it all back. It’s a program that allows for habit change and sustainability. Yes, our Clients lose about half a pound to a pound of fat a day, but we do it in a way that it is healthy and then we stabilize them so they do not gain it back. I believe what sets up apart is the family feel, the sincere care, the step by step coaching, the amazing proprietary blends of supplements and that our Clients get to eat REAL FOOD! I am proud of many, many things! I am proud of that Client that didn’t even know what a protein was-and now they can go to the supermarket and know what they are buying and why it is a good choice. I am proud of the Inspire Team. How they are sincerely passionate about helping our clients. I am proud that I didn’t close my doors and although painful, I pushed and now we are launching a franchise that will impact many, many more communities. I am also proud that I am 1st generation Cuban-American, a woman with no college degree-just a passion and hustle to make a difference.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The Wellness Industry is definitely an industry that is growing by the minute. Now more than ever people are taking action and investing in their health. We can see even now how technology is being incorporated into the Wellness world. Especially after Covid. I believe we haven’t seen anything yet. Tech will play a great part in our services and programs….but I also see a shift on how “old school” customer service and one on one care is coming back, mix that with tech and it will be amazing. Stay tuned inspire has great things happening that will incorporate even more tech to our client’s experience.
