Today we’d like to introduce you to Maite Rodriguez.
Hi Maite, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from the city of Caracas – Venezuela. In 2002, young and full of hope, I arrived in the United States. At first, I dedicated myself to the world of sports and my studies; with time my aspirations grew and so did my interest in desserts and chocolates.
For ten years, I worked as a chocolatier learning the preparation and skills needed to create delicious desserts. I have focused my expertise on cacao to finesse and create exotic flavors in cakes, truffles, chocolate bars, and vegan sweets.
You can always count on fresh ingredients and creative dessert presentations suitable for any type of party.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I was undocumented for more than 18 years, with no family around to help me with my boys for 16 years married and divorced 5 years ago. But I can’t complain I always resolved all my situations with help or without thanks good!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
After working for 10 years as a chocolatier, I learn all kinds of processes in the kitchen as in the business, selling, and growing with the company. I learn to make any type of dessert and cake but more about chocolate itself.
You can see my products on Instagram or online with more than 15 years of experience.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
When you make good stuff people love you and look for more of you. During the pandemic, my skill help me to survive and my good clients didn’t let me down.
