Today we’d like to introduce you to Hessam Abrishami.
Hessam, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Seeking a society free from the limitations of modern day Iran, I left my home country to expand my knowledge and awareness of the outside, changing world. Following the great influence of the ancient history that surrounded me as a child, my quest to excel as an artist took me to Italy, one of the historically great epicenters of the art world. I began my higher education in Pietro Vanucci, at the Accademia di Belle Arti and perfected my craft diligently, leading to countless private collectors world-wide, over $65 million in sales, hundreds of one-man galleries show, over 55 international exhibitions, and multiple works in museums all across the globe.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
For me, artwork does not belong solely to the artist, but also to those who enjoy it. My approach to art is intuitive and free by nature yet disciplined by my strong foundation in artistic fundamentals. My inspiration comes from any and all interactions that happen with and around me. This is all encompassing; life, people, animals, love, romance, intimacy, beauty, dance, music, celebration. Basically, everything that makes me feel good is what I strive to deliver to others with my work.
How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
To me, success is knowing that someone has had a personal connection to and is enjoying my work. I am deeply optimistic — I believe strongly in the goodness of people and this world, which is reflected in not only my art, but in my personal values. This is why it is never difficult to see a favorite painting leave in the arms of a collector, possibly never to be seen again…I have enjoyed making it and now I want it to bring happiness to someone else.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
