Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Smith.
Bryan, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I first picked up a camera in college. My friend needed someone to take graduation pictures and I accepted. That grew into more people wanting to work with me and I found a new passion. My professional background is in news. I interned at CBS News in New York and most recently worked as an associate producer at one of the most distinguished news stations in south Florida. But at work, I felt complacent. I felt that I was holding myself back from achieving my dreams. So I took a leap of faith and quit! Now, here we are.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Right now I am a Lifestyle/Portrait photographer. I love creating images that gives off a certain mood (hence the reason I frequently use the caption #CatchTheVibe). My goal for every portrait is to accomplish a natural yet captivating style. Through every image, I hope the viewer, whether it be a creative or average Joe, has a reason to be inspired. From the subject, the styling, the lighting, to the scenery. I’m still growing into the photographer I aspire to be someday. I just know that I’m constantly trying to improve every aspect of my craft.
In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
There are so many dope artists in the world today. So it’s hard for artists not to get lost in the pack following suit of other artists. That’s why it’s so important to find a way to stand out from everyone else.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Feel free to check me out on Instagram. Also, my website. Support my work by liking, commenting, following me, and most of all, shooting me an email and booking to shoot! Lol!
