Today we’d like to introduce you to Traquila Hernandez, Sidjae and Daveisha Price.
Speak Loud Inc. was founded by Sidjae as she wanted to give back to the community. The innate need developed as growing up she had many individuals who came to the aid of her family on several occasions. Once the idea was brought to her sister, Daveisha Price she was also glad to jump on board. As when she diagnosed with a bleeding disorder she spent months at a time in the children’s hospital and during her stay hung out with many community volunteers who visited just to bring joy to her and the other ill children on the floor.
Lastly, the idea was brought to Traquila who at the time who was an active community youth-based volunteer through her church. Once everyone was on board they decided that they serve underprivileged and misguided youth through scholarships, mentoring and self-development programs. Everyone has their passion projects within the organization, but jointly they are able to generate sources to fund college education for youth, provide guidance on a career journey and build self-confidence. Together they help them speak their dreams and ideas into a reality. They help them Speak Loud.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all. The hardest things are getting sponsors and donations. When the organization started we had to do everything self-funded through our money combined. We did it as we are passionate about giving back. At the same time, we understood the importance of building credibility so that sponsors and donors could trust us. We want the trust as we do not want to be another non-profit who takes the money and misuse it.
Currently, 100% of all money or sponsorship that we receive is given back to the community. We also have an open-door policy financial policy. Meaning that if any of our sponsor request receipts we have no issue. We want to the community to trust us, as we know how hard it is when many people are donating to different causes and seeing the funds misuse. Which brings to our events gallery. After every event we have, whether it’s big or small we add pictures there. Just so the community can actively see us at work.
We have been fortunate to now have some amazing sponsors, donors, and partners such as Jett Wilson & Friends, SoVerve Marketing Group, Just 4 Fun Characters, Scholastic and many others. They have truly helped us serve in our mission.

Our programs at Speak Loud, Inc. have been designed exclusively to target the youth of the community. More specifically our programs target aspects of injustices that affect our youth and aim to rectify these problems through social justice practices.
We strive to enhance the lives of youth who are misguided and, or less fortunate by forces that are beyond their control. We will aim to help them stay out of the justice systems, which most of our youth end up partaking in because they are misguided or less fortunate. We believe that through community partnerships we can help all of our youth “take their ideas from a dream to a reality”. Essentially we can help them SPEAK LOUD!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
We define success when we see one of our kids passing their classes, no longer getting in trouble, accepted to college, or even running their own business.
