Meet Nicole Simpson of Neat With Nic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Simpson.

Nicole, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m Nicole, the founder and the “Nic” of Neat With Nic. I wasn’t always an organized person. My mom often reminds me that when I was a kid, she’d scold me for being messy. But something happened when I moved away to college. Maybe it was because I was on my own and had to learn to fend for myself, or maybe it was my mother’s example and years of persistent training, but living alone made me want to become organized. Being organized has helped me manage my life, my home, my studies, my work, and even my relationships better. I have both a Bachelors and a Master’s degree in Accounting, which fuels the analytical side of my brain, helping me think like an organized person.

I became so well-known for my organization skills that friends would ask me to come over to help when they were feeling overwhelmed by clutter. That is how this business was born. Years ago, I helped my best friend organize her home (and life). She was so pleased with the results. She suggested I start organizing professionally. Word of mouth spread quickly and I’ve been proudly serving people with a diverse and broad range of organizing needs and budgets.

Has it been a smooth road?
Social media has always been, and continues to be my biggest challenge. Despite having been doing this work for years, I had always avoided creating a presence on social media because I rather focus on my organization projects and doing the work. However, I understand the power of social media and finally made it my 2019 New Year’s resolution to launch my social media campaign. By February 2019, we launched. I’ve struggled to learn how to post, what hashtags are, what content is important to post, etc. I’ve come a long way, but I am still learning everyday.

Another important factor is that I personally work on all of our projects. I have team members that assist me when the projects require it—but when you hire Neat with Nic—you get Nic. We are known for being professional, reliable, trustworthy, and discrete.

Please tell us about Neat With Nic.
Neat With Nic is a professional organization company servicing South Florida. We specialize in decluttering and organizing inefficient spaces in your home or office. We focus on understanding our clients’ lifestyles and routines in order to customize storage solutions that work specifically for them. Customizing these systems keeps them motivated and makes it easy to maintain organization after we finish getting them where they need to be.

I am so proud of the progress we’ve made in the past year. Our projects and service areas have expanded, and our clients are requesting additional design services, which has resulted in us growing our staff and team. What sets us apart from others is that we really listen to the needs of our customers. When we design and implement a customized storage solution, we take the time to consider the clients’ current needs and how that space will function after we leave. As many of our clients say, we don’t sit down from the moment we enter until the moment we leave.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Miami is the Magic City for more than just our amazing food, climate, and beaches! We also have a rich multicultural identity where the opportunities are endless for anyone willing to put in the hard work. The question you need to ask yourself is: “What do I want to be known for?” Once you have that answer, there is always room for innovative ideas and services, so, yes I would recommend starting out in Miami. Regardless of where you start a business, there will always be hard moments and days when you’re discouraged. In those moments, put in the extra work and shine even brighter. You define your business and therefore, you’re in control of its destiny!
