Hi Jessica, thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
We all get caught up in the grind and need to curate those peaceful moments at home where we can re-energize and reset. Paloma Brava Co. candles are meant to help you do just that by enhancing your home ambiance to suit what you need at that moment. Paloma Brava Co. luxury candles are hand-poured, scented with eclectic aromas, and topped off with a crackling wooden wick.

What have you learned from the pandemic as a small business owner?
Always be prepared to adapt. Easier said than done, considering we do not have a magic crystal ball. But I learned the hard way that my business plan must include Plan A, B, & C. Having multiple suppliers is critical to a small business. My only supplier at the time lost its supply chain and therefore temporarily halted my candle production. Since then I have developed relationships with multiple suppliers and keep a large supply of materials on hand at all times.

Let’s talk about the future and your vision for the trajectory of your small business.
Last Summer I was able to get my candles into a small boutique store. It was a huge step for me. My goal is to get into 2-3 more stores in 2021. My future vision is to have my own Paloma Brava Co. brick & mortar boutique. The type of spot you meet your girlfriends after work to chat, laugh, sip, & sniff some delicious candles. A place to reset from your workday.

How and why do you name your candles?
I’ve always been a fan of witty and positive cards. But I feel people love the card for a day and then toss it. So, when I decided to start my candle business, I knew that I wanted to add the power of words to my candles. That way they are kept around and can have a longer effect on one’s mood. My candle names are inspired by the little moments that impact our daily lives. I want my candles to make you stop and smile. I want them to be a little scented reminder that life is good.

It was so great to reconnect. One last question – how can our readers connect with you, learn more or support you?
