Today we’d like to introduce you to Capone Davis.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Capone. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Ever since before I heard Eminem on a cassette tape, I knew I wanted to rap… I’ve been good with words since spelling bees in elementary. Coming originally from Georgia, having to leave the backwoods gangland to make a way for myself to now being in Miami eight years, I had to start from square one… no references, no guidance. I finally found my music lane yet ran into obstacles. Cappers and then some… my lyricism is better than the rest, that had hindered me in a land of hate, yet I can’t be denied… I’m out here on these stages and really putting in the work. I have been into music since a toddler… I’m pursuing my craft for I’m meant to do it and I feel everyone isn’t, I make noise every time I’m heard… my album, mixtapes, and singles lit… I make timeless music… being from the struggle I don’t have to advertise. I give lyrical visuals… I had to move through a lot of situations to get where I am now… I am The Remedy.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I lost my mother at 10. As a child, the struggle was known but not shown… my city was gangland or football accessible… other than that, it was no opportunity… one reason I came to Miami. I didn’t come here to a group of friends already. I had to take risks, I was broke with no loans yet my aura and my face kept me good wherever I went… I had to eat a lot of corner store subs and sausage sandwiches to get ahead… a lot of noodles and stomach pains.
Please tell us about your music.
I don’t just rap… I give you bars, punches, storyline, and proper grammar… can’t get that all in one verse from 75% of rappers at its best… I take on any beat as a challenge while everyone gets these easy beats… I’m to versatile. I’m not a punch in rapper. I can freestyle and write… I can give it, however, it’s needed… I am The Remedy.
How would you describe the type of kid you were growing up?
I grew up on old school music… Michael Jackson dance moves, wrestling, and basketball. I was a momma’s boy in the hood protecting my yard… running through the neighborhood with the youngins.
