Meet Briana Beaty of The Palm Beach Moms (and Flavor Palm Beach) in South Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Beaty.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Briana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
For Flavor Palm Beach:

I moved from Miami to Palm Beach and was missing Miami Spice – so I called local chambers and ad agencies suggesting they start a restaurant month in the Palm Beaches. No one bit. So, while working full time in the hospitality marketing field- I spent my lunch hour and before and after work putting on the first Flavor Palm Beach in 2007. Helping it grow and getting to know the chefs, fans, and our partners along the way have been a really fun ride. Being able to share the culinary offerings of the Palm Beaches with the world beyond is a great honor!

For Palm Beach Moms:

When I had my first child in 2011, a group of other new moms and I would text back and forth questions. Friends would add friends so eventually, I turned it into a closed Facebook group Palm Beach Mommas where ladies could ask questions in a private safe space. “Will I ever sleep again?” “What questions should I ask when interviewing a sitter?” “I have baby items to donate, where can I drop them” “Do you need a Nanny, message me I have a great one.” Much like the hungry caterpillar it grew and grew so rules had to be laid out. No advertising, fundraising, events, promotions, selling of any kind – despite the many requests. To this day, it remains a private haven for over 6,900 local moms to seek comfort, support, and advise.

So much like the caterpillar, we moved from our cozy little cocoon to a more public and available platform and The Palm Beach Moms was born. The butterfly result is a website with a blog, public social media, partnership and advertising for brands we personally trust and enjoy. Being able to work while sharing our tips for a sunny life with little in the Palm Beaches and beyond is such a joy.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh heck no, it has not all been smooth sailing – but I have still loved the journey. There are certainly days I don’t know how I will get it all done, or when I have been up all night with a sick kid and still have deadlines the next day. The hardest part is mom guilt – putting my family first while still doing a great job for the companies that put their trust in me will probably be a constant in my career, as with many working parents.

The Palm Beach Moms (and Flavor Palm Beach) – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Palm Beach Moms (a blog and social channel) was born of passion and that shows, that is what I am most proud of. At the core, it is a love letter to my family, to parenthood in general, and to childhood. Every article and post is genuine and something I have done or enjoyed with my family and that is what sets us apart. This has translated into an organic, engaged audience of “Mom Friends” that make this all possible. We are known for sharing family-friendly events, vacations, tips, etc.

(Flavor Palm Beach is the restaurant month for the Palm Beaches, taking place each September at the counties finest eateries. Diners will enjoy fixed price 3-course lunches and dinners.

I am most proud that we have grown and evolved over the past 12 years into a mainstay on the calendar with over 8 million media impressions last year. I appreciate that restaurants and diners trust us year over year.)

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
What a fun question. I have never thought about this, but yes luck must play a role in all things. Luck, timing, the love and support of loved ones and good old fashioned hard work…
