Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy Contreras.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Andy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After attending a photography club in high school, I knew right away that it was definitely going to be in my future! I then attended Barry University for Fine Arts Photography & Business. During and after college, I also worked as a photo assistant for top photographers in many fields such as architecture, high fashion, editorial & more. After an exciting journey, I decided to focus on Wedding & Portrait photography with a fashion twist, as it was always my favorite!
Fast forward to several years photographing weddings and seeing firsthand the popularity increase of the photo booth experiences. As a photographer, one of the must have photos that we need to capture is the decor in the wedding reception area which are usually soft & beautifully delicate. However, the older photo booths enclosed in black boxes were less than complimentary. And so was born my new baby, Photo Booth Boutique. I decided to create & design my own booths that would blend in seamlessly & compliment the decor!
Started out with one booth and now have seven custom made photo booths, each with their own look and style to accommodate all types of events. Aside from the unique booths we carry, we pride ourselves in top notch customer service. As a small boutique company, we are able to treat all of our clients like VIPs!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There has been quite a few bumps down the road, at the beginning and now. Just one year after creating the first booth overwhelmed with my photography business and the new company, I was ready to sell it and move on. But little by little, clients kept referring us and before we knew it, our calendar was filling up. Excitement crept in by the thought that this little side business was going to transform into something never imagined. In order to see it grow, however, it needs time, money and dedication which meant my photography business taking a back seat. Although this wasn’t the ideal plan, sacrifices must sometimes be made for greatness!
This ambition for growth, quality and uniqueness of our services, brings about an inevitable bumpy ride along the way. We’re passionate for finding new experiences or products that we can offer our clients. Some work and some don’t but nonetheless, we always keep trying!
Photo Booth Boutique – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Photo Booth Boutique offers unique photo booth rentals for all types of events. We specialize in luxury and exclusive events that are looking for a more stylized booth. As it was created by a photographer, quality of lighting has been the number one priority. The absolute best compliment that we receive often from guests is that our booth’s lighting is amazing. They love how smooth & bright they look, and this makes us swoon!
In addition to high-quality prints, we offer boomerangs, gifs, event photography and slow-motion video. All that our clients need for brand exposure and engaging experiences!
Most importantly, as a boutique company, it’s our consistency in customer service that we are the most proud of. We always aim to be our best, do our best and ensure your event is the best!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
We have a lot of incredible clients that go over and beyond to provide the most amazing events. And so we’re very proud to be a part of them all. However, it’s when we were contracted to be part of a Premios Lo Nuestro VIP event, that we were extremely over our heads for!
