Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Helfer.
Andrea, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I come from a family of talented artists. Since little, I’ve been encouraged to create and appreciate the arts. The first time I got close to photography -which was probably not the best approach. lol; I was 6 or 7 yrs. old and accidentally opened my dad’s Dark Room, ruining all his film. The 2nd time around was in 1996, but it was much different. I was a Senior at Miami Sunset Senior High School, took a class and I just fell in love with it! I used to develop my own film in the darkroom. It wasn’t until I was 22, a cousin was getting married and I did her photos. That’s when I realized I wanted to do more.
16 yrs. now, with lots dedication and love, it’s been an amazing blessing to do what I love so much! I’ve worked for awesome companies and people in San Francisco, CA. and in my hometown, Miami. I’ve been awarded the Couple’s Choice Award by Wedding Wire, 4 yrs. in a row, since I first entered. Also, been featured with them in their Real Weddings. I’m a regular Guest Speaker for Miami-Dade College Lovegevity Classes for future wedding planners at the Wolfson, Hialeah and Aventura Campus. My work has been featured in several museums and magazines. As a labor of love, I’ve done photos for foster kids to help them get adopted, and for abused women to help gain back their confidence. I’ve been The Biltmore Hotel’s in-house photographer for 4 yrs. I’ve photographed countless weddings, families, special events, beauty queens on the way to Miss Universe and even The White House Presidential Chef… I’ve done a lot and I look forward to see what future brings! My fave subject is weddings, people and pets. I love to capture all the love in all couples. One of my biggest joys, its seeing the big smiles in my clients’ faces, when they see their photos/film.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been smooth always. I’ve work very hard to be where I’m at… Going to sleep at 3 am, trying to run a one-women’s show all by myself, running into a few negative people who didn’t want to see me succeed… Fortunately, there’s also been wonderful people who believed in me and assisted me through the years.
Also, I’m the kind of person who doesn’t cross her arms and waits for things to happen… I make things happen. Even finding a team of amazing artists to work for my company when we are double/triple booked, has been challenging…but we are complete now. All the hard work is totally worth it.

We specialize in Wedding Photography and Cinematography, but we also love to do Portraits for Quinces, Pregnancy, Family, Headshots, and any joyful event!
We’ve done lots of Sexy Boudoirs lately- the hubbies love them!
Curating old damaged photos beautifully, it’s something we enjoy to do too.
We are well known for our gorgeous sun-kissed photos and film (I should copyright that line! lol), our artsy creative eye and attention to detail. Our style is natural, modern and sophisticated with lots of romance!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I think the meaning of success evolves as you grow… When I was in my twenties, success meant to be booked every single weekend and be known by everyone. Now that I’m in my thirties, success it’s about keeping busy, but also being able to spend quality time with my hubby and lil ones (our 2 rescued doggies), our families and friends. To laugh with them, make memories, discover new places together… These moments are priceless!
To enjoy a healthy balanced life style with my most dear, to teach others from my experiences, to have a long list of happy clients, to have accomplished most my goals, to have found true loveF…it’s what I call success nowadays.
