Today we’d like to introduce you to Alecia Brinson
Hi Alecia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Thanks so much for having me! My journey into entrepreneurship started after I graduated from UCF in 2018 with a degree in Integrated Business. I’ve always had a business mindset and a heart for helping people, but real growth came once I got out into the real world, taking risks, learning on the go, and figuring things out as I moved forward.
I actually dabbled in a couple of different ventures before landing in the tax and accounting space. First a clothing line, then eyewear. Those businesses were short lived but they taught me a lot about what it takes to start and manage something on your own.
Eventually, I found my way to a local tax office, and things clicked. I quickly moved into a management role and realized how much I enjoyed helping people navigate their finances. That experience inspired me to launch my own firm, Wealth Nook Tax, where I now offer virtual tax prep, bookkeeping, consulting, and notary services.
Right now, I’m still in the building phase, wearing all the hats, creating systems, and working to grow the business. I’m focused on expanding my reach, strengthening client relationships, and building something that truly supports entrepreneurs. As I continue growing the Wealth Nook empire, I’m also working toward becoming an Enrolled Agent so I can provide even more value to my clients.
Outside of business, I’m also committed to giving back. I volunteer with a local nonprofit in Orlando that provides essential resources to the community, with a focus on food insecurity and nutrition.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not smooth at all, but every bump has taught me something valuable. One of the hardest parts has been wearing so many hats and learning new skills constantly, especially while managing everything solo.
Because I run a virtual firm, building trust without a physical presence has also been a challenge. At first, I was terrified of networking and showing up online, but I’ve pushed through that. Social media, word-of-mouth, being consistent with my marketing and networking efforts have helped me slowly gain traction.
Finances have been another learning curve. Figuring out where to invest time, energy, and money while trying to stay profitable and keep my personal life intact. And mentally, imposter syndrome creeps in more often than I’d like to admit. But I’ve learned to trust God, stay rooted in my “why,” and give myself permission to grow at my own pace.
This journey isn’t easy, but it’s shaping me into the entrepreneur I’ve dreamt of being.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Sure! Wealth Nook Tax is a virtual tax and accounting firm that helps entrepreneurs stay compliant, reduce tax liabilities, and focus on what really matters, growing their businesses.
I specialize in tax prep, bookkeeping, and consulting, but I also place a strong focus on education. I want my clients to understand the “why” behind their numbers, not just hand off, file documents and hope for the best.
What sets me apart is the personalized approach. I take time to really get to know my clients, their business, goals, and challenges so I can tailor my services to their unique needs. And unlike a lot of tax offices that disappear after April, I offer support year-round. I am currently working on a new framework to help my company break into a different target market, but for now, this is an idea of what clients can expect when working with my company.
At the heart of it all, my goal is to bring clarity, even if just a little for business owners. Whether you’re just starting out or scaling up, I want Wealth Nook to feel like a trusted partner you can rely on.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Definitely. One of the biggest lessons has been that real growth happens outside of your comfort zone. This journey has stretched me in ways I didn’t expect, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Clarity has also been key. Once I got clear on my goals, values, and what success looks like for me, the path forward became easier to navigate. Trusting God and trusting the process have kept me grounded, even when progress feels slow.
Another big one? You don’t have to do it all alone. I used to think I had to figure everything out myself, but I’m learning to step into delegation, build relationships, and lean on community. Surrounding yourself with the right people really is a game changer.
At the end of the day, I’ve realized that the journey itself is just as meaningful as the destination. Every challenge and every client I get to serve is part of something bigger than me.
