Community Highlights: Meet Nicolas and Thaline Legrand of Oliver’s Bistro

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Nicolas and Thaline Legrand.

Nicolas and Thaline Legrand

Nicolas and Thaline, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hailing from Lyon, the capital of French gastronomy, and raised by restaurateur and butcher parents, I naturally found my niche in the restaurant industry.

Not long after working abroad in the U.S. and completing my training in catering, I became a proud restaurant owner. I share my passion and ambition with my wife and professional partner of 20 years. We are enjoying our American adventure with our children and quickly feel at home in our West Avenue neighborhood.

As owners of Oliver’s Bistro Miami Beach 2015, a South Beach institution, we are carrying on a tradition built on great food, friendships, and sharing. We are proud to say that our restaurant has remained the same for 20 years, and we invite you to discover or rediscover all that we have to offer. We are here for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and our famous brunch. Join us, relax and enjoy!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have been lucky to meet good people, especially the previous owner of OLIVER’S BISTRO, Hagen Taudt who has been a mentor for us.

It was also important to be advised by professionals, like a good lawyer, accountant, or realtor. Because of the relationship we had with all of them, the road was pretty smooth for us.

As you know, we’re big fans of Oliver’s Bistro. What can you tell our readers who might not be as familiar about the brand?
Oliver’s Bistro is famous for its weekend brunch, but we also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to our local community year-round. We are proud to be that local spot our community relies on for many different types of occasions, either for business, celebrations, dates, or gatherings with friends and family.

We have kept our menu consistent with the classic dishes our customers love but also brought our view and knowledge of French cuisine, adding some specialties that give it a more European flare. Including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, there is something for everyone on our vast menu.

What makes you happy?
Family is what matters the most to us, and we are happy to have the privilege of spending quality time together, watching our kids grow, and being present in their lives.
